Hey there! So, growing up as a missionary kid in Southeast Asia has been super interesting. I’ve been exposed to all kinds of cool cultures and traditions that totally blew my mind. One thing that really stood out to me is this belief that you gotta use your right hand for everything because apparently the left hand is considered “unclean.” And let me tell you, that was a real challenge for me!

Sure, dude, adapting to this belief was a real struggle, man. It took me a while to wrap my head around it, you know? But once I started immersing myself in the local culture, things started to click. Like, the whole thing about the left hand being “not clean” is not because the hand itself is dirty, bro. It’s actually based on some old-school practices where people used the left hand for, you know, personal hygiene stuff. Like cleaning themselves after using the bathroom and all that jazz. So using the left hand for eating and drinking, it’s kind of seen as uncool and disrespectful. It’s not meant to be a put-down to the left hand, man. It’s more about keeping things hygienic, especially when you’re sharing a meal with others. Hope that makes sense, dude!
