A Heart Overflowing with Thanksgiving
Time flies, doesn’t it? Here we are, on the eve of Thanksgiving, a day set aside to pause and count our blessings. My heart feels so full as I think about the life God has given me. It is a harmonious family life where my son and I lean on each other. We build a bond that grows stronger with each passing day. Even though it’s been 26 months since my beloved husband, George, went to be with the Lord. He still feels so near to me daily. His love, his laughter, and the memories we created together are like whispers of God’s goodness. I am reminded of the psalmist’s words. He said, “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever” (Psalm 107:1). Truly, George’s love was a reflection of God’s enduring love for me.
Memories That Light Up the Night
When the house quiets down, and I’m left with my thoughts, I find myself smiling through the tears. Cherished memories of George fill my heart. I remember his gentle presence. We’d read side by side or laugh over a shared joke under a starlit sky. These moments are treasures that no time or distance can take away. But even while missing him, I feel God holding me, comforting me with His unchanging love. “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit” (Psalm 34:18) speaks so deeply to me. God’s nearness is my anchor, turning grief into gratitude for the beautiful love we shared.
Growing in Grace
One thing I’m particularly grateful for this year is how much I’ve grown spiritually. My little tiny library has been a blessing. The modern technology of the internet also blesses me. It gives me access to resources and sermons. These have drawn me closer to understanding God. It’s incredible how He guides me, isn’t it? I feel His love shaping me, teaching me to extend grace and kindness to others. Just as Peter encourages me, “But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 3:18), I see my growth as a gift that glorifies Him.
Daily Renewal and Strength
Every morning when I open my eyes, my first thought is, Thank You, Lord, for another day. My health, my energy, my ability to work—all of it comes from Him. I feel His grace with every step I take, strengthening me to face the challenges ahead. “It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed” (Deuteronomy 31:8) has been my mantra on tougher days, reminding me that I’m never alone.
Friendship and Growing Wiser
The people God has brought into my life are truly precious gifts. Their kindness lifts my spirit, and their encouragement keeps me moving forward. Through the highs and lows of life, I’ve gained invaluable lessons—each challenge shaping me with patience and maturity. I find comfort in knowing that wisdom is a divine gift we can ask for, as James beautifully reminds us: “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given to him” (James 1:5). God’s faithfulness in providing wisdom reassures me that He understands my every need and answers in His perfect way.
Purpose in Teaching and God’s Provision
Teaching brings me so much joy. Watching my students succeed and knowing I played a part in their achievements fills me with pride and purpose. God’s provision is another blessing I hold close to my heart. He’s been so faithful in meeting all my needs, big and small. “And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19) reminds me that I never walk alone—His hands are always providing.
Little Joys in Modern Life
Modern conveniences also fill me with gratitude. My small, reliable car continues to serve me well. The advanced technologies like Data Processor, AI, Youtube, Netflix, e-books and Internet Library bring both productivity and relaxation to my life. All these tools give me the time and space to read, write, and focus on my blog, where I can share my thoughts with readers near and far. All these facilities remind me of God’s goodness. From using AI to make my work smoother to unwinding with a good book, a good video or a Netflix show, these little conveniences feel like gifts from above. “Every good gift and every perfect gift are from above, coming down from the Father of lights” (James 1:17) helps me see these modern blessings as part of His perfect plan.
A Year Full of Gratitude
As this year draws to a close, my heart feels so full of thankfulness. God’s goodness shines in every part of my life. It is clear from the love of my family. It also shows in my health, wisdom, and the spiritual growth I have experienced. This Thanksgiving, I lift my heart in praise, knowing that His love is steadfast and His faithfulness never ends. As Paul so beautifully puts it, “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you” (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18).
