Two Cents’ Worth of Thought

Welcome to Two Cents’ Worth of Thought!

Thank you for visiting this little corner of reflections. Here, you’ll find a collection of my thoughts on life, faith, and inspiration, drawn from the beauty of daily moments, the wisdom of books, and the depth of heartfelt experiences. Each post is a glimpse into how ordinary encounters can spark extraordinary insights and how faith guides us through life’s joys and challenges.

This space is about cherishing the small things that leave a lasting impression, sharing stories that uplift, and offering perspectives that encourage you to see God’s hand at work in the everyday. Whether it’s a lesson from a quiet morning, a quote from a beloved novel, or a reflection on faith’s role in shaping our journey, I hope these words resonate with you and spark meaningful thoughts of your own.

So, grab a cup of tea, take a moment to pause,
and join me in exploring life’s deeper meanings—one thought at a time.

Lately, I have watched a very touching movie Gift. Gifted (2017) is a tender and heartfelt story that beautifully captures the complexities of love, family, and the innocence of childhood. Frank Adler (Chris Evans) is a devoted uncle raising his bright and spirited seven-year-old niece, Mary (Mckenna Grace), in a cozy coastal town in Florida.… Read more: A Gifted Child

A Heart Overflowing with Thanksgiving Time flies, doesn’t it? Here we are, on the eve of Thanksgiving, a day set aside to pause and count our blessings. • Longing for my Beloved Forever
    by Georgia
As the quiet of night surrounds me, my heart fills with cherished memories of you, and the ache of missing you deepens. I find myself yearning for you to visit me in my dreams, to feel your embrace, even if only for a fleeting moment before the dawn. Yet, this simple longing often goes unanswered.… Read more: Longing for my Beloved Forever
  • The Transformative Power of Forgiveness and Reconciliation
    by Georgia
In June 2024, I dedicated four sessions, each lasting an hour and a half, to introducing my four young scholars to William Shakespeare’s The Tempest. Among its many themes, the play deeply examines forgiveness and reconciliation—principles that resonate profoundly with biblical teachings. Matthew 6:14-15, where Jesus emphasizes the importance of forgiving others as we seek… Read more: The Transformative Power of Forgiveness and Reconciliation
  • Balancing Health, Temptation, and Faith: Trusting God’s Plan
    by Georgia
In front of me is a delicious ice cream, tempting me. I’m trying to manage my blood sugar and keep my daily calories in check. Every day, we make choices with a plan and a purpose in mind. Often, we’re focused on meeting our own needs, living our lives, and achieving our goals, but we… Read more: Balancing Health, Temptation, and Faith: Trusting God’s Plan

The Importance of Relationship
in our Life

During one of our Cell Group activities, Ms. Karen facilitated a session on the concept of the Green Zone and Red Zone Enemy Mode, as presented by Jim Wilder and Ray Woolridge in their book Escaping Enemy Mode: How Our Brains Unite or Divide Us. Before diving into the discussion, she engaged us with a wonderful icebreaker. She posed a thought-provoking question: “When you hear the word ‘relationship,’ what single word comes to mind?”
A stream of words immediately filled my thoughts—connection, engagement, kindness, loyalty, love, care, happiness… As members shared their answers, someone mentioned two words I had in mind, so I chose not to repeat them. It was a heartwarming session that fostered warmth and connection among us. Later that weekend, I found myself reflecting deeply on the word “relationship.” Inspired by the discussion, I quickly jotted down my thoughts. Here they are…

1. Relationships Provide Emotional Support

Life is a journey filled with both joy and challenges, and relationships offer us a safe place to share our thoughts, feelings, and struggles. A strong relationship, whether with a spouse, friend, or family member, gives us the confidence to face hardships because we know we are not alone.

📖 “A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.” — Proverbs 17:17
